May 31st Concert Weekend

We arrived at the Best Western Motel in Buffalo on Thursday afternoon before the concert. After getting checked in we headed to the ranch and of course on our way there we stopped at Betty Sue's Flea Market. We visited with her for awhile, then headed down the road and made a quick stop at Cissy's for a quick visit. After talking with Cissy awhile, off we went to the ranch where we drove around for awhile. By this time it getting close to 5:00, so we headed to Buffalo and stopped at Loretta Lynn's Kitchen and got some vitdals then back to motel to get some rest.

Friday morning we were up and at them about 8:00 got some breakfast and headed out to Weaverly and get some thing we thought we might need. We got back early to the room so we get things together for that night. We had a show to do that night at Weaverly Health Care Center. The residents seemed to really enjoy our show. They sang along with us to their favorite Loretta songs, one of which got up and danced, it was wonderful seeing them enjoying this time together.

Saturday got some breakfast at the kitchen and made some arrangements for the show that we were to do in front of the kitchen that afternoon. After doing three 45 minute shows, we went back to the room and crashed. Then got cleaned up and got ready to go to Loretta's Concert.

Ernest Ray opened the show and then Patsy came out. They each sang a couple of songs; they are very talented people. Then the moment everyone was waiting for, Loretta came on stage. She was wearing a beautiful lavender gown, it sparkled with sequences over every part of it, and it was so beautiful (a Tim Cobb creation). Loretta sang song after song and was amazing always.

Patsy surprised her mother with a special guest, Mark Lowery Loretta's favorite gospel singer. They sang a couple of songs together and Mark had some jokes. She also sang some songs with the Coal Miners and her backup singers, Lee, Michael and Sheldon. Loretta and Sheldon sang God Bless America Again, which was very appropriate, for the way things are looking today. Loretta did, How Great Tho Art which brought the crowd the their feet and closed the concert with The Coal Miner's Daughter

This was one the best concert that I’d ever seen Loretta was in rare form, looking forward to seeing her in July's concert.

Oh yes, I have got to tell ya’ll about the trip back home. Well before we left the motel, there was gentleman on vacation and needed a ride to Nashville, his name was Barry. So without hesitation I said yes, he got in the van and we headed out. We took him right where he wanted to go downtown Nashville. But, before he got out of the van I ask him where are you from? He answered Tasmania, Australia.

Love and Prayers
